PATENT SEARCHES

PATENT SEARCH
The first step in the patenting process is to have a professional patentability search completed by an independent patent searcher to ensure that your invention is patentable. An independent patent searcher should be hired by your Patent Attorney to perform the manual United States patent search for your invention.  You can perform a free online patent search at www.uspto.gov.

PatentHunter is a fee based patent searching and management program that can easily search and download patents directly to your computer.

PATENTABILITY OPINION
After the independent patent search is completed, a Registered Patent Attorney should compare the relevant located patents to your invention.  The Registered Patent Attorney should provide you with an opinion as to whether he/she believes there is a chance of receiving acceptable patent protection.
